  4. For what it's worth, I've been taking generic plaquenil for about 5 years now. Early on, I had an itchy rash break out on my forearms, and my doctor had me stop the plaquenil. Within 4 days, my joint pain returned with a vengance, and I was begging for the plaquenil, itchy rash and all, lol. Over the ensuing years, I've had occasional rashes.
